Lonnie Murphy has hunted whitetails in eight different states and in one Canadian Providence. Lonnie was started hunting as soon as he turned 12 in South Dakota. That year he was fortunate to harvest his first buck and has turned bow hunting giant whitetails into his favorite hobby.

Lonnie's first filmed hunt was two years ago and resulted in his first on-camera kill of a 154" Kansas eight pointer. Videoing hunts took a more serious turn for him last year when he rarely hunted without a cameraman, taking turns on being the hunter or the cameraman with fellow Whitetail Freak Tom McFarlane. His Kansas hunt was filmed last year by Tom and can be seen on Realtree's Monster Bucks XIV.

Along with his fascination of giant deer, Lonnie also spends a lot of time fishing bass tournaments in the summer months and searching for sheds come winter/spring. Lonnie is married to his wife Shelly have they have a daughter named Samantha. Even though Samantha is very young, Lonnie is already looking forward to the day when he can take her in the field for the first time.

Although he spends a lot of time hunting in my home state of Minnesota, Lonnie prefers to travel just a little bit south to do most of his hunting where the bucks tend to reach maturity on a more consistent basis. He feel very privileged to be involved in this upcoming project (Whitetail Freaks) and looks forward to contributing the best video footage that he can.
