Chris Ellis, who works for Goodrich Aerospace, resides in South Central Iowa. A native
of Seattle Washington., Chris moved back to Iowa after the age of six and has only
been away for a few years while attending college in Kansas. Chris has three wonderful
children; Tyler 21, who is in the Army. Chelcee 16; she is involved in track and cheerleading.
Aaron is my youngest, he is 11 and loves to hunt and ride his dirt bike and quad.
Chris also loves sharing his interest and now has his girlfriend hooked on shed hunting
and will be muzzle loading for the first time this fall.
Whitetails have become an obsession for Chris. He harvested his first deer at the
age of 14 with a shotgun. Shotgun hunting was his mainstay for several years. With
the encouragement of a friend he tried bow hunting in 1988 and hated it. A close friend
got him to try it again in 2003 and this time it took off. In 2004 Chris decided to
start to video hunts and with the help of the Kisky's, was introduced to John Sharp
and the rest is history. He was able to video John harvest his best buck ever (170
3/8) and this fall John returned the favor when Chris harvested his best ever bow
kill (171 1/8) from the same tree stand. In 2004 Chis took two great bucks with bow,
a decent 6 point in an incentive area and a 25” wide 8 point that they didn’t capture
on film, that was the first time the guys weren’t able to get together to video because
of family obligations. John and I have had two incredible seasons and we look forward
to this fall.. Chris is also known for his shed hunting success with numbers that
reached into the 100's for a single season this year. One of his finds found Chris
into the NAW magazine featuring a set of locked bucks in Iowa.
Never did I think that I would be on a video, especially one with the likes of the
people I'm with now. It's challenging yet rewarding at the same time. My only regret
is that my Father passed away before he got to see any of this; I know he sure would
have enjoyed it.

Jeremy Putnam Originally from Central Minnesota is a veteran of the computer graphics
industry turned Freak in 2005. I have been hunting my whole life, and like most of
us I was taught by my father and grandfather. Jeremy started bow hunting four years
ago with some successes, but it took a full season of getting busted by deer before
he realized that he needed to include a Scent-Lok System to his approach. Once Jeremy
was suited up, the kills soon followed.
During the last season he began documenting kills in the field, andunfortunately have
little photographic evidence to show at this point. But this season is going to be
different...this is going to be the year that puts this Freak on the map! Thanks for
your interest in us Freaks. Have a great season, be safe, be patient, and let the
little ones go!
